Humantold therapist Karen Veintimilla recently spoke with HealthCentral about the emotional impacts of social media.

Technology is everywhere, which is why establishing boundaries can help create healthier habits and enhance our overall well-being.

In the article, Karen Veintimilla (LMHC) discusses several different ways to take control of one’s personal technology and social media use. She explains how “we get a dopamine with all the likes and retweets; it becomes an addiction of its own,” and that recognizing the harmful effects of our social media can lead to an understanding of personal peace.

A Dream About Someone Unexpected Might Not Mean What You Think It Does

    July 13, 2021 | Women’s Health Online

In this Women’s Health Online interview, Humantold therapist Christina Jeffrey delves into dream theory and why certain dreams might not represent what you think they do.

Sometimes our dreams can lead to an overwhelming amount of questions, instead of the relaxing deep slumber we’re used to.

In the article, Christina Jeffrey (LMHC) shares what dreams about several different topics mean—explaining that we must understand what a dream is first in order to understand why we may dream about someone. She also discusses a study that found “a dream is the equivalent of a data dump between the hippocampus (your brain’s browser) and the neocortex (the memory),” explaining that “dreams are the hippocampus clearing the browser for the day, prepping your brain for the next day.”

    July 6, 2021 | Byrdie

In an interview with Byrdie, Humantold therapist Fatemah Dhirani discusses insights around setting boundaries.

Working hard can force us to look out for others and their expectations, rather than our own well-being.

In the article, Humantold’s Fatemah Dhirani (LMHC) discusses several different ways to set boundaries in your career. She explains “It’s crucial that you create a structure around when your workday starts and ends,” adding that “this prevents you from overworking and improves your work-life balance.” In addition to creating a routine, Fatemah identifies how paying attention to our energy levels, creating to-do lists, and tracking time can also help us thrive in our careers.
