College Students

College. It’s an exciting time of transition, liberation, growth, and enlightenment. It’s also a time of stress, exhaustion, worry, and at times, loneliness and homesickness.  It’s not easy juggling the fun and freedom of adulthood with the responsibilities and demands of a college workload and growing financial obligations.

According to the American College Health Association, 99% of college students reported academic challenges negatively impact their mental health, while only 40% of students feel their school does enough to support student mental wellness.

For BIPOC students, gender non-conforming and LGBTQIA+ students, and female student athletes the added reported stress of micro-aggressions, harassment, and discrimination, compound things further. More than just an opportunity for higher education, it’s safe to say that our experiences of college are varied and different. Sometimes we need a little something more to better navigate the road ahead.
