Ketamine Assisted Pyschotherapy

New paths through the same mind.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) brings ketamine and therapy together to create new possibilities for insight, connection, and change.

Get Started

KAP gives therapy a new way forward.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a meaningful new approach in mental health. It creates a temporary psychedelic state of mind that’s more open to change, and pairs that moment with skilled therapeutic support.

The ketamine creates a window of neurological flexibility where the brain is more apt to form new connections, sit with difficult emotions, and shift patterns that often feel fixed. The therapy is what makes those shifts lasting.

Get Started

The Science

Ketamine acts on the brain’s glutamate system to help neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to form new neural pathways.

The Delivery

Sessions take place in person, at our office, given intravenously. This is considered the gold standard of Ketamine delivery.

The Integration

Ketamine opens new ways of thinking and feeling. Therapy makes sense of what emerged and puts those new perspectives to work.

What the experience can feel like.

KAP sessions are different for everyone, but most are pleasantly surprised by what unfolds. Here’s a few things you may discover along the way.

Get Started

Perspective shifts

Many people feel a loosening of the mental grip that keeps rigid thoughts fixed in place. Problems that seemed overwhelming now feel workable.

Emotional access

Deep feelings can surface that you may be keeping suppressed - like anger, grief, fear, love. Emotions that were difficult to reach get easier to explore.

Guided support

You’re never alone during a session. A clinician is present, the setting is calm and controlled, and support is there whenever you need it.

Where and when KAP can help.

KAP isn't right for everyone, but for people carrying anxiety, trauma, depression, or pain that feels stuck, it can open up space for change.

Chronic Pain

When chronic physical pain has a major mental component, KAP has shown promise as part of a broader integrative treatment plan.

Grief & Life Transitions

Loss, breakups, career changes, identity shifts. KAP can help process complex emotions and find clarity during difficult times of life.

Depression

By creating a distance from depressive thinking, KAP can open up your emotional flexibility and renew your sense of possibility.

Anxiety

KAP can help quiet the anxious mind, letting you access insights and coping strategies that feel out of reach in heightened states.

PTSD & Trauma

By quieting the nervous system's defenses, KAP can let traumatic memories be processed with less overwhelm and more perspective.

OCD

KAP can help break OCD’s cycle of intrusive, worried thought loops - creating space for new responses to take hold.

A therapy practice, first.

Most ketamine places are infusion clinics that added a therapist. Humantold is the opposite. A therapy practice, clinician-founded and clinician-owned, that added ketamine because for many clients, it helps the therapy go further.

Whether you're already in therapy and looking for a new way in, or you’re seeking first-time support, you're coming to people rooted in this work. Caring for you thoughtfully, from the very first call.

Get Started

At your side each step of the way.

KAP is a process, not a single session. Each stage is designed to make the experience as safe, effective, and supportive as possible.

Evaluation

Evaluation

A thorough medical and psychological assessment determines whether KAP is the right fit for you. Not everyone can be a candidate.

Preparation

Preparation

Before any session, you meet with your clinician to set intentions, discuss what to expect, and address any questions or concerns.

Session

Session

Ketamine is administered intravenously at our office, in a calm, supported setting. Sessions last 45 to 60 minutes accompanied by your clinician.

Integration

Integration

After treatment, you’ll work with your therapist to process what emerged, find language for it, and apply those insights to your therapy work.

Is KAP the answer you’ve been looking for?

Sometimes, it takes going outside the box to figure out what’s going on inside you.
